why ?

simple. because we would rather waste our time caring and feeling about things or someone that doesn't return or acknowledge it, than lie in the dark staring into empty space feeling nothing..'to accept the love we think we deserve'
we as humans feel and only exist because of these emotions; happy, sad and everything in between. to care for nothing is more fulfilling than feeling nothing.
the pain is welcomed to consume the empty spaces we try our best to avoid.
