you turn and walk away.
before you leave tell her how,
how you make it look so easy.
what kind of heart doesnt look back?
back at the person you loved.
at the one you shared your life with.
you left her long before she left you.
you had hold of her,
her fears,
her fragile moments,
her tears,
her heart.
she was yours.
how did you not see?
now with her head held low,
she walks alone.
you took everything she knew,
all her hope, love, happiness and trust.
you let them slip through your fingers.
you can take all these things,
you can leave her emotionally naked.
take away her safety,
her shelter.
leave her with nothing to hold on to,
nothing to keep her head above the water.
but,
she will surprise you.
she still has all the small pieces,
from the life, love and trust you shattered.
a million pieces scattered around her feet.
piece by piece she has rebuilt herself.
it started the day she said goodbye.
all the hate, the lies, the judgement.
it wont break her anymore.
it will be for the better.
make her into some one who is strong,
who is brave,
who is ready.
she will not break again,
she will not waste a tear on you,
because you wont have the chance to try again.
she is mature enough to forgive you,
but has learnt not to trust you.
she walked out of your life,
through the doors into something new.
something much better.
all she wants and all she needs,
will be waiting for her when she least expects it.
there will be someone who will appreciate her,
who will see the road she has travelled.
that person will understand your mistakes,
and prove to her that those same mistakes,
they will not be made by him.
all the she searches for will find her,
and she will appreciate them.
every moment and every second.
she will breathe again.
